How I Grew My Pinterest from 1K to 700K

Hey B*tches!

I can’t believe it has been almost 2 months without a blog post * gasps * but TO BE FAIR I have been roaming the globe and honestly it has been so refreshing and has sparked so much creativity. I can’t wait to get home and start back to my regularly scheduled programming again :P BUT I had to get the Pinterest post out before then because it has been SO SO SO highly requested that I couldn’t wait. If you follow me on Instagram then you probably saw me creating the highlight for my Pinterest growth, which was basically at 1K in June and is currently at 733K as of October. Obviously that growth had you guys flooding my DMs wanting to know how I did it, which leads us to the creation of this post. I am going to be sharing my tips and how I grew my Pinterest to 700K monthly views so lets dive in BUT just a quick disclaimer, I am by NO means a Pinterest expert and am just sharing what has worked for me. NOW let’s dive in!

1. Start. A. Pinterest.

While this is probably obvious it is always surprising to me how many bloggers/influencers don’t utilize Pinterest at all. It has so much value and potential that honestly by not using it you are missing out on thousands of views to your website or blog. For example Instagram was my #1 source of traffic to my blog UNTIL I started using Pinterest and in just 5 months it has become my #1 source surpassing all my other sources significantly.

2. Create Boards That Fit Your Content

Having boards that cover the content you are producing on your website is SO important because you will be integrating your own pins and you want boards that they can be pinned to. For example I am a lifestyle blogger and I post about everything from food to travel to OOTDs to blogging resources so in turn my Pinterest has boards for recipes, travel guides, blogging tips, outfit inspiration, and more.

3. Organize Your Boards

This was probably one of the best tips I received from a friend of mine who is a Pinterest wizard because before I was told, my boards were a total mess! I organized quite a few of my boards to have sub categories, like my Accessories Board has two sub categories, Jewelry and Handbags. This gives you the freedom to have boards for all the different aspects you want but keeps your Pinterest account looking clean and organized.

4. Pin Everyday

This is such a critical step that I noticed really changed everything for my Pinterest. I like to manually go in and repin and post my pins but you can use tailwind or other scheduling applications to do it for you. Speaking of repining this brings me to #5.

5. Repin Other Pins and Follow Other Accounts

Definitely make sure you aren’t just pinning your own content and that you are creating a nice balance of other Pinner’s pins as well as your own. No one wants to just see ALL you ALL the time so by pinning other people’s pins you are creating a nice balance. Like I said, I pin multiple times per day and half are just repins that fit my boards. Following other Pinners is also important because you want your pins to repined which is easier when you have other Pinners following you and vice versa. Almost all the bloggers I have followed followed me back and now repin my pins here and there

6. Use Hashtags On Pins

Hashtags have really upped my Pinterest game and I wish I would’ve been researching them and utilizing them way back. You can see what similar pins have for hashtags and that gives you a good idea of what to start using. I also just google and research good hashtags for my niche which is pretty easy to do.

I hope these tips will help you at least get started on growing your Pinterest. Like I said I am definitely no expert but these are just some tips based on what worked for me. I am still 100% learning and upping my Pinterest game DAILY. Like just today before posting this one of my friends told me I should be using Canva to add headings and words to my pins. So that is something I will probably start implementing now! If you have any questions that didn’t get answered by this post please feel free to reach out on any of my social media(linked below) or drop a comment below and I will answer it!

I hope you all have a great weekend and can start working on your Pinterest game ;)

3 Mix & Matchable Outfits For Europe

Hey B*tches!

I am so excited to be sharing three of the outfits I am taking to Europe with me in a few weeks, I love putting together travel looks and these three from Apricot Lane are definitely some of my favourites! Building outfits for traveling is such a struggle because you want them to look cute but be comfy enough to explore in and also be able to pack easily. Thankfully these three outfits hit all those criteria so lets just jump into it!

This first travel look is one of my favourites! I am a huge fan of jumpsuits and I love the versatility of this one. As you can see I styled it with and without the leopard kimono. The kimono is also a great piece because I can use that with other outfits on the trip, for example, a black tee and shorts so it is definitely a good piece to travel with. The white jumpsuit can also be paired with different coverups and you could pair it with sandals to dress it down a bit more than the wedges.

For accessories I went with these freaking adorable strawberry earrings just to add a fun pop of colour, they also have a little sparkle to them and I mean they’re literal STRAWBERRIES how could I not!?

DSC_0546.JPG

I used this fun little scrunchie in some of the shots sans kimono just to add that little leopard pop, I love how scrunchies are making a comeback! They are such a fun way to add a little fun to your look. Also how CUTE is the back detailing on this jumpsuit!?

I also paired this outfit, as well as the upcoming two, with these QUAY shades( for EVERYONE wondering its pronounced “key” I didn't know either lol) they are just so versatile and cute. They literally pair well with every outfit which makes them perfect for traveling and peek that leopard case though!

For shoes I went with these black wedges. I am a sucker for wedges when I’m traveling because I really don’t want to miss out on the height that heels bring little 5’2 me but I also want to be comfy so enter wedges. I chose black because they will be easiest to mix and match with the other outfits I pack but white would be super cute too just not with this white jumpsuit!

Now onto this super cute pink halter top dress! I absolutely love to wear dresses when I’m traveling because like jumpsuits they are also a complete outfit. They are usually thin fabric making them hella easy to pack and save space. I really like that this particular dress has some ruching at the front so it can hide my food babies on the trip ;)

I paired this dress with these matching beaded earrings. Seriously though can we take a moment to admire HOW WELL they match!?! Also they are actually really light despite all the beading!

For shoes I went with these cute Corky sandals. If you haven’t tried Corky you DEFINITELY need to especially if you have a trip coming coming up. They are some of the most comfy sandals you will ever wear, trust me! And look adorbs while being comfy which is a rare find.

Last but not least is another jumpsuit and this one might just be my favourite you guys. I mean look at that pattern? I am a walking tropical paradise lol! I paired this look with and without the suede jacket because depending on where I am and the weather, I would be wearing it accordingly. I do like that I can just throw on the jacket if I get a bit chilly in the evenings so I would 100% recommend carrying something to layer up with.

I decided to pair both looks with this super fun “Low Key” straw fedora. I also carrying a hat of some kind with me when I am traveling because if you didn’t have time to do your hair or wash it you can always throw on a hat an look completely put together. It has saved me soooo many times!

I paired these bright blue shag earrings with both looks as well as the Quay sunnies and fedora. With all the colours in this jumpsuit you could honestly pair it with so many different earrings because there are so many colours to choose from. I just liked the pop of blue!

Too Glam To Give A Damn

Hey, Hey B*tches

Happy Monday Babes! I hope your week is starting off as great as you ;) I am currently recovering from my trip to Houston where I hosted Basic Blogger Brunch Saturday! It was so great getting to meet and mingle with some old and new Houston Blogger Babes. ANYWAY this post is all about my new fave accessory, Statement Bobby Pins so lets focus on those LOL!

Facetune_30-07-2019-18-46-24.JPG

KITSCH sent me a few of their statement bobby pins to try and I wasn’t sure how I was feeling about them until I styled them and got them shot. After seeing the pics I was IN LOVE with them. They can literally work with almost any outfit, dressy or casual, and add such a fun pop to them. I went from “ IDK about these things???” to “I NEED ALL THE STATEMENT PINS!!” in one shoot!

MK3.JPG

I chose the Glam & Damn pins because Too Glam To Give A Damn is literally one of my all time favourite sayings. Plus I already had this vision of styling them with a super fancy dress set in a casual setting and that just fits the whole TGTGAD vibe am I right or am I right!?

MK2.JPG

If you are looking for something to spice up your outfits with and give your hair a little more attention I 10/10 recommend getting some statement bobby pins. If you want the exact ones shown in my pics here are the links for Glam & Damn. Once you start using these you will be hooked trust me!!
