Kaaboo Music Fest

Hey, Hey Babes!

Happy Hump Day! I hope you guys are having an easy week so far. I have been catching up on all the work I missed while I was prepping for and attending Kaaboo Music Fest here in Dallas! Speaking of Kaaboo lets just get this post started, I have been dying to share my experience with you all.

Kaaboo started in San Diego and has been going on there for about 5 years now I believe. Recently the festival has started branching out to new locations like Texas. Kaaboo Texas was held that the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, TX, a little bit outside of Dallas.

Now obviously this was Kaaboo’s first year in Texas so naturally they had a few kinks but for the most part it seemed like everything was running smoothly. If you follow me on Instagram then you know that my #1 complaint was that I was supposed to have VIP 3 day passes for the event because I was invited as an influencer to make content and really experience everything they had to offer but I was only given GA. This definitely put a little bit of a damper on the first day and kept me from being able to experience aspects of Kaaboo but what can you do? I made the most of it and still got to hear good music and hangout with my friends.

The lineup for Texas was actually really great, I got to watch some artists I have always wanted to see and you were able to get so close to the stages for pretty much all the performances. My faves from the 2 days I went were definitely Alanis Morissette, Little Big Town, and Andy Grammer! Alanis has been on my concert bucket list forever so seeing her was amazing.

While you were waiting for performers Kaaboo had some fun stuff to fill those slots of time like lounges stocked up with drinks and snacks, photobooths, an arcade, and art exhibits. I had TOO much fun playing in the arcade while I was waiting on Andy Grammer!

Since Ramadan fell during Kaaboo I couldn’t eat or drink until the evening so I DEF had food/drink FOMO for most of the day :P OH and they had these BOMB hydration stations which again, FOMO, but they had giant fan misters which felt AMAZINGGGG!

Despite the few struggles I had with Kaaboo I still had a great time in the end. i got to listen to good music, hangout with my favourite people, and get some Insta worthy shots ;) So I still count it as a win. I would love to know your thoughts if you went to Kaaboo Texas though so leave them down!

But First Let Me Take A Snap151

I am bringing you ALLLLLL the colour and brightness with this post to help you get though this Tuesday or as I like to call it, pre hump day. I also just REALLY want to share my experience at a new interactive pop up in Dallas, Snap 151. These new “Selfie Pop Ups” are all the rage right now so being the Basic Blogger B*tch that I am I had to hop on this trend!

Snap 151 is located in Mockingbird Station and will be popped up there until May 19th. Tickets are $20 which is honestly less than I thought it would be and children 3 and under get in for $10. You get a 50 minutes to explore the space and get pictures at the 10 interactive exhibits, It was more than enough time in my case. I had time to make tons of fun videos, boomerangs, etc, plus shoot with my photographer!

Here are shots taken from each interactive exhibit EXCEPT the flowers and gold wall.

So a few tips for anyone looking to check this out. I would definitely bring some outfit changes because you can basically do a new outfit at every exhibit and also if you aren’t super skilled with photography or have someone coming with you who is, bring a photographer because the lighting is a little hard to work with at some of the spots and I would have been LOST without Kendra(photog).

If you have been wanting to check one of these interactive pop ups out I hope this helps shed some light on them for you. My experience with Snap was super fun and I left with some great content for my socials so no complaints here. The only critique I would have is that there is quite a bit of just empty wall space that I think could definitely be used for more photo-ops.

If you do go to Snap 151 definitely hit me up in the comments or my socials and let me know your thoughts!

I hope you guys have a fab week and I will talk to you soon.

Fight Like A Girl

Hey Babes!

I hope you all are having a FAB week so far! I have literally been working on this post for days and I am so ready to finally be sharing it with you guys! Lets just get straight into it because I CANNOT wait any longer.

When Source Vital asked me to work with them on their Natural Deodorant Challenge for October aka Breast Cancer Awareness Month, I was more than happy to accept. I have a huge history of breast cancer in my family including my mom, grandma, and great grandma. A few years ago I found out that I actually have the BRCA2 gene, which means I am at an increased risk for breast cancer. Taking all that into account breast cancer awareness obviously holds a incredibly special place in my heart and I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to help spread some awareness of my own.

The Natural Deodorant Challenge was started by Source Vital to help women make the switch from regular deodorants to their all natural varieties. Regular deodorant is full of harmful aluminum which can increase the risk of developing cancer and it also clogs your pores inhibiting the release of toxins. If that wasn’t reason enough to make the switch Source Vital is donating $5 from every deodorant sold this month to The Rose. The Rose is a non profit organization in Houston, TX, that provides breast cancer screenings, diagnostics, and treatment for all women regardless of their ability to pay. SO by switching you aren’t only helping yourself but you’re also helping this AMAZING organization keep up their wonderful work.

Once you have decided to make the switch you can head to Source Vital’s Instagram and enter for a chance to win some great prizes. Just click the Natural Deodorant Challenge post in their feed, tag three friends who you think should make the switch, and follow Source Vital. You could win a $1,000 donation to The Rose in your name, $100 gift card to Source Vital, and a 1 year supply of their all natural deodorant!

I am so happy to be doing my part in spreading awareness this October. Changing your deodorant is just one of the simple and easy ways you can lower your chances of developing breast cancer. Along with that make sure you do regular self checks at home, if you never have you can easily google the proper way to check yourself. This is one of the best ways to stay on top of your breast health. No one knows your body the way you do and taking the necessary precautions and catching signs early is SO important!
