Fight Like A Girl

Hey Babes!

I hope you all are having a FAB week so far! I have literally been working on this post for days and I am so ready to finally be sharing it with you guys! Lets just get straight into it because I CANNOT wait any longer.

When Source Vital asked me to work with them on their Natural Deodorant Challenge for October aka Breast Cancer Awareness Month, I was more than happy to accept. I have a huge history of breast cancer in my family including my mom, grandma, and great grandma. A few years ago I found out that I actually have the BRCA2 gene, which means I am at an increased risk for breast cancer. Taking all that into account breast cancer awareness obviously holds a incredibly special place in my heart and I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to help spread some awareness of my own.

The Natural Deodorant Challenge was started by Source Vital to help women make the switch from regular deodorants to their all natural varieties. Regular deodorant is full of harmful aluminum which can increase the risk of developing cancer and it also clogs your pores inhibiting the release of toxins. If that wasn’t reason enough to make the switch Source Vital is donating $5 from every deodorant sold this month to The Rose. The Rose is a non profit organization in Houston, TX, that provides breast cancer screenings, diagnostics, and treatment for all women regardless of their ability to pay. SO by switching you aren’t only helping yourself but you’re also helping this AMAZING organization keep up their wonderful work.

Once you have decided to make the switch you can head to Source Vital’s Instagram and enter for a chance to win some great prizes. Just click the Natural Deodorant Challenge post in their feed, tag three friends who you think should make the switch, and follow Source Vital. You could win a $1,000 donation to The Rose in your name, $100 gift card to Source Vital, and a 1 year supply of their all natural deodorant!

I am so happy to be doing my part in spreading awareness this October. Changing your deodorant is just one of the simple and easy ways you can lower your chances of developing breast cancer. Along with that make sure you do regular self checks at home, if you never have you can easily google the proper way to check yourself. This is one of the best ways to stay on top of your breast health. No one knows your body the way you do and taking the necessary precautions and catching signs early is SO important!

Hotel Alessandra Houston

Happy Friday Babes!

I hope you all had a great week! I spent mine getting things ready for some events I am hosting and just hanging with my besties. I am so ready to share the final hotel from my stay in Houston with you guys! So lets just jump into it!

For the last part of my week in Houston I was hosted by the amazing Hotel Alessandra, and let me tell you guys it is literally one of my favourite hotels now!

First off lets start with my room because it was gorgeous! Everything in there was totally chic and modern. I loved the vibe SO much, it was one of the most aesthetic rooms ever. Another cool feature was the tablet that let you order room service and read about all the amenities that the hotel had to offer!

Hotel Alessandra has an awesome gym that you have to check out if you stay with them. They have the newest, nicest equipment and I loved the refreshment area that they had stocked with cold water and towels. They even offered bottle Fiji water for you to take with you while you're actually working out which I loved!

Of course they have an AMAZING pool because how could they not!? There are tons of spots where you can just lay out and work on your tan or there are even loungers in the shallow end that you can relax in if you don't feel like diving right in.

If you are in Houston I HIGHLY recommend staying at Hotel Alessandra. The location of the hotel is absolutely stellar. You are right downtown H-Town and are also only blocks away from Minute Maid Park, the Toyota Centre, and the House of Blues. You couldn't ask for a better location!

I hope you guys have a great weekend!

Coffee With A Cause

Happy Monday Babes!!!

I hope you all had a fantastic weekend and are ready to kill this weeks goals, whatever they may be for you. If you need a little inspo to help you get driven, this post is definitely for you! I am going to be sharing my FAVE coffee shop in Houston A2ndCup and their amazing mission.

A2ndCup is a coffee shop that is making major moves against human trafficking in Houston. They are completely non-profit, using the sales from the shop to help end human trafficking. They are also channeling their profits into aftercare solutions for human trafficking survivors such as education, counselling, work experience, etc. As their profits grow they are also hoping to start donating to other partner organizations that are fighting to end human trafficking as well.

I was so ecstatic when they asked me to come in to do a write up for them. I am always looking for ways to use my platform to enact change and make a impact in the world, if I can help spread the word on the amazing things A2ndCup is doing and help educate people on human trafficking how could I pass that up?

While I was there I had a chance to try out some of their coffees and seriously guys they were all phenomenal! I tried the Sweet Toff Iced, Latte, Cortado, and the Horchata Sidekick. My favourites out of them all were definitely the Latte and Sweet Toff but they were all amazing!

If you are ever in Houston I can't recommend stopping in A2ndCup enough. They are doing such amazing work and nothing tastes better than coffee with a cause, plus their coffee makes a great Instagram shot ;)
