Jumpsuit Joy

HI Babes!!

Happy Hump Day! I am not gonna lie y’all I’m riding the struggle bus this week, between trying to keep up with my work and fighting this sinus infection I am SO ready for the weekend to be here. Speaking of the weekend I am sharing the perf weekend outfit with you guys today!

This blue jumpsuit is literally perfect for any weekend plans you have! I can dress it down for hanging at the farmers market or dress it up for brunch with my babes, it is so versatile and just freaking adorable no matter how you wear it.

Can we take a minute to admire the cute AF ruffle that goes all the way around this jumpsuit though!?! It adds the perfect touch of girly to the whole look. I am always down for a good ruffle ;)

I am so obsessed with jumpsuits because they are a complete outfit all on their own. Especially when Im traveling I basically just live in gorgeous rompers and/or jumpsuits! They take all the guess work out of making an outfit for the day, plus they’re crazy comfy.

I got this particular jumpsuit at Altar’d State but this one is currently sold out. I did link a SUPER SUPER similar one from Target HERE though. My white heels are thrifted but I linked a similar pair HERE.

As always if you have any questions or comments feel free to leave them here in the comments or hit me up on any of my social medias!

I hope you all make it through this Hump Day and have a fab weekend!

Happy Way Protein Powder

Happy Sunday Babes!

I hope you all had a fantastic weekend! I was so busy getting things ready for the Friendsgiving brunch I hosted yesterday that I am ready to just relax today. I also splurged at brunch so today I am getting back on track with my clean eating and that includes my fave products from Happy Way!

Happy Way is a health food company from Australia specializing in protein powder but they have expanded into powdered greens, fat burners, teas, and more. They make one of my favourite protein powders, Cacao Mint Hemp! It tastes like a legit thin mint and I am obsessed.

The Greens powder is a fantastic way to integrate more greens into your diet, I l love their tropical flavour because I can add it to my fruity smoothies perfectly! You can even add it to some coconut water and that is also super delish. I definitely recommend adding it to your routine.

The fat burner is basically a pre-workout to help you get energized before a hard workout. The watermelon flavour is 100% my favourite because it tastes like a watermelon Jolly Rancher and I love the burst of energy I get when I take this before I hit the gym.

If you are looking for a new protein powder company to try give Happy Way a chance because they do not disappoint! I am hooked and I know you will be too ;)

As always if you have any questions feel free to leave them down below or hit me up on any of my socials linked below, I love talking to you guys so don’t be shy!

I hope you all have a wonderful Sunday, I am off to watch the Patriots game!

Xoxo,

Alex

A Beginners Guide for Reaching Out to Brands

Hi Guys!

Let me just start by saying this has got to be the MOST requested post E V E R! I have gotten countless DMs and messages telling me to write this post so I am finally delivering ;)

your-wish-is-my-command.jpg

I remember when I was first starting out the thought of pitching brands and companies seemed so overwhelming and let me just say it IS NOT that hard or complicated. If you follow these tips you will be pitching to everyone with no stress or fear. Lets get into how to pitch brands!

Finding the Right Contact

This is a really simple step that will save you a lot of time and will make sure your pitch lands in the inbox of the appropriate person. Make sure you go the website of whatever brand or company you are reaching out to and find their PR email. If you send your pitch to their generic email there is a good possibility it will just get lost in the many emails they get daily.

Writing Your Pitch

Your pitch is your one shot to get the brand/company’s attention which means you want to stand out. Make sure you keep it short and sweet, no one wants to read paragraph after paragraph of information, basically you want to tell them what a great fit you think you would be but not waste their time. Here is what a typical pitch to a brand would like from me,

Hello,

My name is Alex Ashraf, I run the lifestyle blog The Basic Blogger B*tch, you can see the website here https://basicbloggerbitch.com/my combined following is over xxxx amount currently, with X amount on Instagram alone https://www.instagram.com/thebasicbloggerbitch/ . I would love to work with you on a post for my website and socials as I think we would be a great fit. I have also attached my media kit for you to have a look at to get a better idea of my stats and what I have to offer. If you're interested I look forward to talking more.

Best,

Alex

I try to keep most of my information in my media kit as to not clutter up the email. Speaking of media kits.

Create a Media Kit/Press Kit

The best thing I ever did was make myself a BOMB media kit to attach with my pitches. Media Kits make brands and companies take you so much more seriously in my experience. They also keep all your stats, numbers, previous work with other brands, and other information from cluttering up the initial pitch. You can make your media kit on Canva, which is what I use and it is SO easy, if you don’t want to make it yourself you can find someone to make it for you and it shouldn’t cost that much. My friends have had them made for as little as $15-$20.

Don’t Be Afraid to Follow Up

I have had so many of my friends tell me they want to follow up with a brand after not getting a response and I always tell them DO IT! I have gotten some of the best jobs after following up with the company. Sometimes your email simply slips their mind or isn’t seen and there is nothing wrong with following up, as long as you don’t go crazy and send them like 100 emails I definitely recommend it. I personally like to send my follow up after a week from the initial email.

Be Prepared For Rejection

It doesn’t matter how big you and your blog are or how small we ALL GET REJECTED. It doesn’t mean your blog is terrible or that you will never get work it just means you weren’t a good fit for that company or brand. You will find companies and brands who see the value in you and your blog and those are who you want to work with. I definitely understand how crushing rejection can be but you just have to remember your value and keep your chin up.

I am by no means an expert at this, these are just things I have implemented that have worked for me. I am 100% still learning and navigating being a full time blogger but I hope that these tips can help some of you guys feel more confident with reaching out to companies and brands!

As always if you have any questions feel free to leave them down below in the comments or hit me up on any of my socials! I love talking to you guys so don’t be shy ;)

I hope you all have a fantastic weekend,

Xoxo,

Alex
